Ford Escort LX 1995 - 1996

I have owned many different types of cars; American, imports, big, small, 4 cyl, 6 in line, V6 and V8 cars, but none come close in overall comfort and reliability as the mid 1990s Escorts with the amazing transversal 1.9 fuel injection engine, the smooth automatic transmission and the power seat belts, these are one of a kind. I have been driving them since the 90s when I rented one at Washington DC airport Dec. 1995 and drove all over the area up to NYC and back. Then I bought one which came with 5 speed the softest clutch I ever experienced in my entire life. Escorts are spacious inside super comfortable for 4 people, and I have put 7 suitcases one time in my SW version which lasted many years until a fire destroyed the car. The manual original was mine for 15 years until a drunk driver rear-ended me at 80 mph and though the car kept running fine for a year after that the DMV did not renew the tag as the trunk was damaged yet the Escort protected me and my daughter not catching fire or getting hurt. I wish these were in production today, they still run like they are recently made nearly 30 years after leaving the production line ! - 5.0
